10 Amazon Travel Essentials You Didn’t Know You Needed (Until You Did)
aka the things I never leave home without
Packing for a trip isn’t just about clothes and chargers—it’s about having the little things that save your sanity on the road. After a few too many “I wish I packed that” moments, I’ve finally nailed down my go-to list. Here are 10 travel essentials from Amazon that seriously level up your travel game. And yes, I use all of these.
Some of these links are affiliate links, which means if you grab something I recommend, I might earn a small commission (at no extra cost to you). I only recommend stuff I actually use and love, and it helps keep Majja’s Travel Diary up and running—so thanks for supporting my little corner of the internet 💛💁♀️
1. Packing Cubes
I resisted these for way too long and now I will never go back. Packing cubes are a total game-changer when you’re trying to fit your life into a carry-on. They keep your clothes organized, make unpacking super easy, and let you separate dirty vs clean clothes on the fly. Here’s the one I use, but there are plenty to choose from.

2. Travel Power Bank
This one’s a non-negotiable. A solid power bank has saved me from missing train tickets, Google Maps fails, and airport boredom too many times to count. Get one that holds multiple charges and works fast or one that’s solar powered. They even make power banks for your laptop! Thank me later.

3. Universal Travel Adapter
Different plug types = chaos. Its something a lot of us tend to overlook. This little cube of magic has every plug you’ll need around the world, plus USB ports to charge multiple devices at once. It’s a one-and-done solution for any destination.

4. Collapsible Water Bottle
Hydration is key, and having a water bottle you can roll up and toss in your bag is chef’s kiss. It saves space and money (bye, overpriced airport water), and most airports have fill stations now anyway!

5. Compression Socks
Unsexy? Yes. Essential? Also yes. I started wearing compression socks on long-haul flights and now I won’t fly without them. Your legs will thank you—trust!

6. Silicone Travel Bottles
TSA-friendly and leak-proof. I use these for shampoo, conditioner, and sunscreen so I’m not hauling around full-size bottles. Plus they’re soft and easy to squeeze every last drop out of. I even use these at home!

7. Noise-Canceling Earbuds
Whether it’s crying babies on a plane or your hostel roommate’s 3 AM snoring, noise-canceling earbuds are the move. I always keep mine in my personal bag, and the best part? They’re less than $30!!

8. Door Stop Alarm
This one is a must if you’re traveling solo. I first got mine when I did a solo trip to Colombia—it gave me serious peace of mind at night in my Airbnb. You wedge it under the door and if someone tries to open it, a loud alarm goes off. Honestly, I even use it at home now. Safety first, always.

9. Fanny Pack
I swear by my Adidas fanny pack—it’s perfect for walking tours, markets, or just keeping your essentials close without lugging a purse around. Plus, it’s kind of my security blanket at this point (passport, wallet, lip gloss, snacks = all within reach).

10. RFID-Blocking Passport Holder
This one’s a small investment with major payoff. It keeps your passport, boarding passes, and cards all in one spot and blocks those sketchy scammers from digitally swiping your info. Also makes you look like a pro traveler at immigration.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these or if you have your own holy grail travel item. I’m always down to add something new to my packing list. Safe travels 💼✈️
