A Weekend in Boston…

Our Boston Weekend Getaway: Museums, Aquariums, a Surprise, and So. Much. Food.

My boyfriend and I spent this past rainy weekend in Boston and honestly, it was such a vibe. We were celebrating our 3-month anniversary (super cute, I know), and packed the weekend with museums, good food, and a few surprises I did not see coming.

Here’s the full rundown if you’re thinking about doing a weekend in Boston—or just wanna live vicariously through mine.

Where We Stayed

We stayed at SpringHill Suites in Peabody from Friday to Sunday, which ended up being super clutch. Peabody is right in the middle of Boston and Salem, so it made everything feel pretty accessible without being in the chaos of downtown Boston.

The room was clean and spacious, breakfast was free (major win), and parking was basically free ($3) which, if you’ve ever driven in or around Boston, you know is rare. I found some good hotel deals on Skiplagged and Expedia, if you’re planning a trip.

Saturday: Science, Sea Life & Surprise Gifts

Saturday was stacked. We started the day at the Museum of Science. So many interactive exhibits, a whole lightning show, and just generally a good time if you’re even a little bit nerdy (no shade, I too am a nerd).

One of my favorite parts of the Museum was the crystal and seashell collection tucked away upstairs. I collect crystals and seashells at home, but this collection was enough to make anyone envious. I could’ve stayed there forever just staring at all the colors and textures. The crystals were breathtaking, and the seashells came in all shapes and colors, it really gave this nostalgic, beachy vibe that made me feel like a little kid again.

But the (almost) best part? My boyfriend casually told me he was getting me a new phone that morning, and after the museum, we drove straight to the Apple Store where I picked out the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Like… what? Still kinda shook. He also gave me a few other small cute gifts at dinner later that night that just made the whole thing even sweeter. Not to brag, but he’s pretty awesome. Plus this whole weekend was his idea!

After that surprise high, we headed to the New England Aquarium which was right on the water. I was living for the jellyfish exhibit and sea lions. Super chill vibe, and we probably spent a solid hour just watching the giant ocean tank.

Lunch Break at Legal Sea Foods

Post-aquarium hunger hit hard so we stopped at Legal Sea Foods. We had oysters on a half shell, fried calamari and a fish sandwich. We washed that down with one of THE best Mojitos I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. This place is almost a right of passage in the are and if you haven’t been before, it’s worth it!

Dinner = Food Coma at Fogo de Chão

That night, we went to Fogo de Chão, which is this Brazilian steakhouse where they just keep bringing you different cuts of meat until you tap out. Perfect anniversary dinner honestly—bougie but not stuffy. You can also reserve in advance on Open Table if you don’t want to risk waiting.

We left stuffed. Happy. Slightly in shock that I now owned a brand new phone. A perfect Saturday, really.

Sunday: Art & Recovery Mode

Sunday was more chill—we checked out the Museum of Fine Arts before heading home. This was hands down my favorite part of the weekend (besides the phone) I didn’t realize how huge it is, so we didn’t get to see everything, but what we did see was amazing. Definitely need to go back and spend more time there.

We were planning to swing by the Salem Witch Museum, but we were honestly too tired to function by then. It’s fine though—Salem’s close enough that we’ll probably do it on another weekend. Just keep in mind that tickets are only available online the DAY OF.

TLDR:

Stayed at: SpringHill Suites Peabody

Visited: Museum of Science, New England Aquarium, Museum of Fine Arts

Ate at: Legal Sea Foods, Fogo de Chão Surprise gift: iPhone 16 Pro Max (he’s setting the bar high…) Didn’t make it to Salem, but it’s on the list

If you’re planning a weekend trip to Boston soon, 10/10 recommend mixing museums with good food and keeping things flexible—you never know when you’ll need a nap or get surprised with a new phone. It’s also wise to arrive at all places mentioned as early as possible due to parking alone. Alternatively, you can always just Uber from wherever you’re staying.

I’m always looking for new spots to add to my Boston rotation, so if you’ve been and have a fave place (or ten), drop it in the comments! Or if Boston is still on your list, let me know what’s at the top of your must-see list. I’d love to hear what you’re most excited about—or what hidden gems I need to check out next time I’m in town!
